VETERANS PARADE TO FEATURE NEW ENTRIES
The 6th Annual Cumberland County Veterans’ Parade will be held Saturday, November 7th, at 10 a.m., rain or shine. The popular parade will honor veterans of the United States Armed Forces in Cumberland County.
The parade will feature Stone Memorial Panther Marching Band and the Cumberland County High School Jet Marching Band. Grand Marshal Korean War Veterans, will be at the front of the parade. Other participants will include veterans service organizations, community groups, the Cumberland County Senior Queens, and a variety of military, emergency, and classical vehicles. The parade will begin at Cumberland County High School on Stanley Street, proceed North on Main Street, and end at the Crossville First Methodist Church at the intersection of Braun and Main Street.
The parade relies on private donations to meet expenses. Last year, a generous donation from the Lake Tansi Exchange Club will help fund the parade again this year. Jimmy Pleasant’s Quick Copy Shop generously provided copying services again. Flynn signs again donated time on their digital billboards leading up to the parade.
Entry forms for participation in the parade are due no later than Friday, October 31. They can be submitted online and are available at Parade4Veterans.org. The parade is organized byvolunteers of the Cumberland County Veterans’ Parade Committee. The committee meets at the Crossville American Legion Post on S. Main Street, on the last Tuesday of the month, at 5:30p.m. The meetings are open to the public and new members are always welcome.
